Epping Forest District CAB

Free Independent Confidential Impartial Advice

regardless of race, gender, national origin, disability or sexuality

Epping Forest District CAB (EFCAB) was formed in October 2008 as a result of the merger between the three CAB's in Epping Forest District, namely Epping CAB, Loughton & District CAB and Waltham Abbey CAB. The public should not see any difference, as the Epping, Loughton and Waltham Abbey offices and the various outreach stations will continue to operate as before, but under the direction of a single Trustee Board and unified management structure.

Our predecessor organizations provided advice to the local community for over 25 years and helped many thousands of people with their problems. EFCAB is funded by Epping Forest District Council as well as Essex County Council and the town and parish councils in the district.

We are registered in England and Wales as a limited company with Company Registration Number 5852220. Click here to see our Memoranda of Association, and click here to see our Articles of Association. Both require the Adobe Acrobat Reader.

EFCAB has Charity Registration Number 1118465 and offers advice and information on subjects including consumer problems, debt, employment, housing issues, relationship problems, and welfare benefits. We have specialist advisers in the areas of Debt, Employment and Welfare though initial interviews are normally with a generalist adviser. All our advisers are required to complete a nationally recognised training programme.

Our services are free, confidential, independent and impartial and are offered to anyone regardless of race, gender, sexuality, disability, religion or age. All interviews are conducted in privacy and a confidential record is kept of your visit. It helps us to deal with your enquiry if you give us permission to record of your name, address and telephone number but you have the right for your records to be held anonymously. You have the right to see the data that we hold about you. However, if your enquiry was made more than 2 years ago then it may take us up to 7 days to retrieve the data. If you asked to remain anonymous (did not consent to our recording your name and address) then we may not be able to identify with certainty which of our anonymous data relates to you and will therefore be unable to disclose any data to you.

All records are kept securely in our archives for a minimum of 7 years. If you have any concerns about this please discuss them with any of our advisers.
